Further Education

Further Education

Secretary of State for Business Vince Cable and Skills Minister John Hayes launched the Government's strategy for skills, "Skills for Sustainable Growth", and its parallel publication, "Investing in Skills for Sustainable Growth", on 16 November 2010.

The strategy sets out the Government's vision for reform of the Further Education and skills system in order to improve the skills of the workforce, the performance of the economy and engagement in learning.

Investing in Skills for Sustainable Growth sets out how the Government seeks to achieve its objectives through investing strategically in FE and skills over this Spending Review period.

ICT has a pivotal role to play in helping address these challenges. European Electronique is a market leader in the provision of innovative infrastructure solutions that transform the whole teaching and learning experience and that streamline back office functions.

Our expertise extends to the provision of complete college-wide ICT infrastructure solutions covering; networking (wired and wireless), server /storage and virtualisation, unified communications (telephony/messaging/conferencing/remote access), desktop (thin/thick client, mobile, virtual desktop), display systems and a complete range of managed service options.

In addition, strategic partnerships with the world’s leading ICT vendors ensures high product availability and competitive pricing models, maximising your investment in ICT.

We have a huge variety of innovative solutions available to our FE sector clients, and are constantly adopting emerging technologies to ensure we bring to the table the best of what is on offer. Two of our biggest successes that have borne the fruit of this approach are listed below:

The provision of state-of-the-art digital and interactive technology will support academic staff in delivering stimulating, dynamic and flexible teaching to their students. Sandwell College intends to transform the teaching environment through the increased use of curriculum-focused learning bases. Each learning base will form the hub for teaching and encourage collaborative learning whilst benefiting from the latest that technology has to offer to deliver information and resources.

Suffolk One - The new 6th Form College has been designed and built from scratch with an aim to produce a fantastic, forward thinking and innovative learning environment leading the way for further education in the county.
