Free Schools

Free Schools

The right school can transform a child’s life and help them achieve things they may never have imagined. Through the Free Schools programme it is now much easier for talented and committed teachers, charities, parents and education experts to open schools to address real demand within an area.

Free Schools are all-ability state-funded schools set up in response to what local people say they need in order to improve education for children in their community. The Free Schools programme provides inspired teachers, parents, charities and community groups with the opportunity to set up new state-funded schools that raise educational standards.

Launched shortly after the last general election in response to the demand for good schools and more choice, the first Free Schools will open in September 2011.

Learning from international best practice and experience, the application system for those groups that wish to open Free Schools from September 2012 has been developed.

European Electronique is the market-leader in the provision of ICT and managed service solutions to Schools, delivering services from the ‘Cloud’ and ubiquitous wireless communications. Both are seen as being essential to managing the demands of temporary accommodation and ensuring value for money moving forward.

Recent wins for European Electronique include the largest project to date, Bristol Free School and, seen by many as the flagship project, the West London Free School which is being led by Toby Young (Journalist). This project in particular has been subject to significant media attention.
