Healthcare at European Electronique
European Electronique has been working within the health sector since 1987, alongside numerous health practices from Procurement Hubs and Primary Care Trusts to Private Hospitals/Clinics and Local Surgeries. With the NHS tasked to reduce its expenditure by at least £15 billion by 2014, they face huge challenges in meeting government targets covering efficiency, quality of service and data protection. Our vast experience in the healthcare sector enables us to source, implement and manage projects resulting in, amongst other things, considerable financial savings.
We employ highly skilled technical resources, which include professional services, managed services and a systems support team. With their immeasurable knowledge, European Electronique can offer the latest advances in technology which can benefit the NHS. Our customers will therefore benefit from a dedicated Healthcare Account Manager who will be their primary point of contact, will have a full understanding of the development, management and support of the IT infrastructure within a NHS organisation and can offer you the latest technology updates on a regular basis.
This is underpinned by European Electronique’s partnerships with all major UK manufacturers. With our "best of breed" approach, we work closely with these manufacturers to ensure high product availability and competitive pricing models, enabling us to offer you access to evaluation equipment and demonstration suites at major vendors’ headquarters throughout the UK.
In a recent project where innovation was implemented to improve the NHS, a provision of wireless healthcare solutions was designed to afford health professionals, secure, robust and reliable access to patient records and other critical clinical data. In deploying Generation 4 wireless, doctors and nurses can now access, record and update patient records, place pharmacy orders and even dispatch discharge letters to GPs, all from the patient’s bedside. Furthermore, expensive hospital equipment can now be more effectively tracked and efficiently deployed, patient waiting times more accurately assessed and managed, and treatment and medicines prescribed without the risk of human error associated with handwritten records. In effect, communications can be improved considerably right across a Trust through the usage of high-speed wireless. The same technology (RFID) used to track hospital equipment, can also be used to better protect those patients considered ‘vulnerable’. In short, NHS trials have highlighted 25% increases in productivity, 32% reductions in travel times while up to 96% of patient & clinical record updates were completed on the day compared to manual transcription meantime’s of around 48 hours. The cost savings are clear especially when VOIP ("voice over internet protocol") and other associated benefits are taken into account.
European Electronique’s services will enable NHS organisations to maximise the value of IT by:
- Reducing cost and complexity
- Meeting government targets and new legislative requirements
- Empowering clinicians to make faster diagnosis
- Enhancing collaboration between remote sites
- Providing secure and reliable access to patient data
- Lowering power consumption
We also have extensive experience of delivering end-to-end IT solutions to NHS customers; some of which include Wireless Asset Tracking and Remote Working.
